great place. a little run down. some of the window blinds didn't work so well and some of the window handles had missing pieces. you can definitely hear the road noise from the master bedroom. we ended up sleeping in the other room. much quieter. the place in general was great! lots of space. comfortable furniture. kitchen was easy to move around in. the lanai was the best feature. wonderful view of the ocean as you are right across the street from it. easy .25 of a mile to the main beach. go kona direction and there are a few more shoreline access signs/paths that run in between houses. good location and comfy house
Prime location with surfing and snorkeling just across the street. Especially enjoyed the lanai, BBQ, and openness of the living room and kitchen area.
Great location good value. Clean and as described. Small problem with ants typical for the island. Could use a little more care on minor maintaninance. Overal great place, would stay there again.
We rented this house for the Ironman week. The location was good, right on Ali'i drive. It was not far from town, but out of all the commotion. The two drawbacks were that 1)there is only A/C in the bedrooms and the rest of the house can get very hot 2)we had a problem with ants arriving each evening even without any food in sight. Yuck! - especially given the price.
We travelled with another couple and had a great stay at the home. The location was great as it was right across from the ocean so we could sit out on the lanai, enjoy our morning Kona java and watch the surfers. The kitchen was well appointed and the beds were comfortable and it was nice for each couple to have their own bathroom and shower. There was a hose outside to wash away the beach sand and we made good use of the boogie boards! The house is conveniently located on Alli Drive which is full of shops and some great restaurants and places to enjoy a Mai Tai or cold beer after a day at the beach. We used the charcoal BBQ a few nights to cook up some Mahi Mahi and burgers. We recommend Humpy's if you arrive late (after 10 p.m.) and they have great pizza and burgers. Lulus is another great casual place and the hotels along Alii have some fine dining. There is so much to do in Kona right in the area but we made sure we toured the entire island. Kona is for sure the nicest weather and much drier than the Hilo side. The air conditioners in the bedrooms were a plus and we turned them off in the evening and the breeze was adequate to keep them cool through the night. Despite the convenient location on Alii drive the house is quiet and you only hear some traffic if you choose to keep your windows open in the morning. The feather couch in the living room was a plus to enjoy some late night DVD movies and the blender was appreciated to make our Pina Coladas and chi-chis. I hope we can return soon, loved the home and all that Kona has to offer...great beaches, snorkelling, kayaking, dining and entertainment.
Property could use some repairs such as the outside railing, bathroom door handle, refrigerator motor noise. There was a lot of street noise and the neighbor worked all day every day on sawing and making cabinets in his driveway. The ocean view was obstructed by telephone wires and other houses. For the positive- Wayne the property manager was great- responsive and nice. Also, the property did have a good location close to town and the water. It also felt safe. TVs in every room and internet worked well.
We found there were alot of ants, so we had to be very diligent about cleaning up in the kitchen. The house also was super hot during the day and the fans didnt seem to do alot to cool it down. Lucky for the awesome deck and air-con in the bedrooms. We will definately stay there again.
Great home right on Ali'i in walking distance to the best snorkeling on the island. The house is right across from the water allowing unobstructed views of the surfers from the lanai. That's where we spent most of our time, just relaxing or BBQing. The interior was tastefully furnished with Asian-themed furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed. The home gets some traffic noise from Ali'i but it is set back a bit from the street so that it did not bother us too much. The sound of the ocean also made more than up for it. Easy parking. There is also a shuttle to town from the Keauhou Beach Hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Nice ocean view from lanai! The house is decorated nicely...We loved the fist and turtles in the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped. Bedrooms looked great. When we arrived the second bathroom was broken. However, the property manager left us a note about the same and got it fixed the next afternoon. That was the only drawback! We had a lovely stay
The vacation rental is situated in a great spot for anyone visiting Kona,. Close to the beaches and all the ammenities of course ; but the view of the sunsets and surfers makes it difficult to leave .....I wish I didn't have to ...what more can one say !
